Music Ministry - Main
The psalmist declares "Sing to the Lord, you saints of His; praise His holy name. For his anger lasts only a moment, but His favor lasts a lifetime; weeping may remain for a night, but rejoicing comes in the morning." ---Psalm 30:4-5
The music ministry of First Baptist Church has over 440 persons enrolled this year in one of our ten choirs, two vocal ensembles, three handbell choirs and church orchestra (Exaltation!). Our deepest desire is to glorify our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ as we surround His throne in worship and praise. As we lift up the name of Christ, God has promised that others will be drawn into His marvelous light, being delivered from the chaos, the darkness, the loneliness and the evil which seeks to keep so many in bondage living without hope. Christ is our hope and our desire is to praise Him as long as we have breath! As we turn our hearts toward God in song, we pray that the gospel we sing will encourage those who are hurting, provide hope to the disillusioned and lead everyone to a deeper awareness of who God is and how awesome and powerful His love is for each and everyone of us.
Is God leading you to be a part of His music ministry? There is a place for anyone wanting to serve using your musical abilities. A very important need is for additional instrumentalists to play in our church orchestra, Exaltation!. This group rehearses each Sunday morning in the sanctuary at 8:30-9:30 AM. They provide instrumental music and accompaniment in many of our worship services. Call Mark for more information about this opportunity.
