Deacon Nominations August is the month we nominate our New 2027 Deacons & Trustee! FBC members may submit up to twenty (for Deacon) and one name (for Trustee), to the Church Office. Current deacons, Church ministerial staff and spouses are exempt from nomination. Nomination forms may be obtained at the Welcome Center and the Sanctuary foyer. Completed forms are due 8/31 and may be placed in locked box at the church or the incoming mail slot in the church mailbox. The nominees and nominee form will also be available on the church web site and may be emailed to the church office (carrie.owens@fbcgainesville.org). Nominee eligibility requirements will be listed in the nomination form. During September, possible deacon and trustee candidates will be asked to attend one of several orientation meetings. Those candidates who the Deacon Election Committee confirms are eligible according to the Church Bylaws and who wish to accept their nomination will become Deacon and/or Trustee nominees. Those names will be placed on an election ballot for vote between the third Sunday in October (10/18) through the second Sunday in November (11/08) directly on the paper ballot, or online on the new electronic ballot found on the church website (fbcgainesville.org). Newly elected deacons and trustees will begin service in January, 2027. Download Nomination Form
